Meet Katelyn

Founder and Principal Designer Katelyn Gilmour is a Bay Area native who grew up in San Jose’s Almaden neighborhood. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from the Interior Design Institute in Newport Beach, then spent nearly a decade designing homes throughout South Orange County.

In 2015, Katelyn returned to her hometown to focus on family and build KBG Design. Since then, the firm has grown into a leading Bay Area studio, recognized with multiple awards and featured in top design publications.

Katelyn’s passion for interior design starts with building a transparent, genuine relationship with her clients. She takes the time to understand how they truly live—digging into the details that make their lifestyle unique. By connecting on a personal level, she creates spaces where her clients can flourish and make lasting memories for years to come.

Having navigated major remodels herself while raising a young family, Katelyn deeply empathizes with the challenges her clients face. She actively listens to their needs and goes the extra mile to bring their vision to life. It's one thing to design a beautiful space on paper, but something entirely different to ensure these designs are seamlessly implemented in real-life.
